New: Trump's Deportation of U.S. Citizen Children Is an Outrage
As protests against President Trump’s mass deportations grow, new horrors continue to surface. Last week, the Trump administration deported three U.S. citizen children to Honduras, including a 4-year-old boy undergoing treatment for stage 4 cancer, his 7-year-old sister, and a 2-year-old girl separated from her father. The children's mothers, undocumented immigrants, were coerced into taking their U.S. citizen children and barred from contacting family or legal counsel until after deportation.
Attorney Gracie Willis, representing the 2-year-old, emphasized that deporting U.S. citizens without due process is unprecedented. Even a Trump-appointed judge, Terry Doughty, condemned the actions, stating there was "no meaningful process" and "no good-faith interpretation" for what occurred. Despite this, officials like Tom Homan and Secretary of State Marco Rubio falsely claimed parents voluntarily took their children—ignoring that no real choice was ever offered.
This cruel policy further endangers vulnerable families and shreds constitutional protections. Nearly 5 million U.S. citizen children have at least one undocumented parent. If deportations like these continue, thousands more American families could be torn apart with no due process or accountability.
The deportation of U.S. citizens—especially sick and vulnerable children—should outrage every American who values human rights and the rule of law.
